At Practicing Musician, we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with every purchase. Whether you encounter an issue with your order, receive a defective instrument, or simply wish to return or exchange an item, our PM Cares team is here to assist you every step of the way.

Defective Instrument

If you believe you’ve received a defective instrument, contact our support team at 1-775-316-7664 or email us at [email protected]. If the unit fails under warranty within 30 days of purchase due to no fault of your own, we will cover shipping costs within the US to replace it.

“No Hassle” Return Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not happy with any new instrument, you can return it within 30 days of the date it was shipped* for a refund or in-house credit, or exchange it for another instrument. If your order had free shipping, the outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your credit or refund.

Condition of Returned Instruments

In determining the condition of returned instruments, we classify them as follows:

  • Like New: Instruments in pristine condition, showing no signs of wear or damage.
  • Previously Owned: Instruments that have been gently used but are still in excellent condition.
  • Used: Instruments with noticeable signs of wear, yet fully functional.
  • Damaged: We are unable to restock damaged instruments.

Return of Instruments

To facilitate a smooth return process, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Photo Documentation: Prior to returning the instrument, kindly take clear pictures from multiple angles, including one that captures the serial number. This step ensures that the instrument is free from damage before shipping.
  2. Condition Upon Receipt: When we receive the instrument, it must be in the same condition as when it left our facility. This includes being free from any damage incurred during the return shipping process.

Restocking Fee: We strive to make your experience with Practicing Musician seamless and enjoyable. To ensure fairness and transparency, please be aware that a restocking fee may apply to returned items.

Practicing Musician reserves the right to refuse returns at its sole discretion.

How to Make a Return

  1. Contact your PM Cares team for assistance.
  2. If applicable, note that a restocking fee may apply for items with redeemed rebates or promotions.
  3. Write the RA number on the shipping label (not on the product box).
  4. Ensure items are returned in their original condition, including accessories, documentation, and packaging.
  5. If double-boxed, return the unit(s) double-boxed.
  6. Pack the instrument in its original box with intact UPC codes.
  7. Avoid using adhesives that leave a residue when repacking.
  8. Use a trackable shipping method (e.g., FedEx or UPS).
  9. Insure your package when using your own shipping labels.

Return Address: This will be provided to you by our PM Cares team.

*Extended Holiday Return Policy: In the spirit of the holiday season, our return policy is extended to 60 days for purchases made between the start of our Black Friday sale and December 31st.

Exchange Policy: Our exchange policy aligns with our return policy, offering you flexibility and peace of mind. If you wish to exchange an instrument, please follow the same process outlined above.

Additional Note on Private Lessons: If you’ve already taken private lessons and decide to exchange your instrument, we will not renew the total number of lessons upon receiving the new instrument.
