Hi there! I’m Tyrell Butler, and I’m excited to join the Practicing Musician team. Music has been a huge part of my life, and I love sharing that passion with others.
One of my proudest moments was performing as a Regional All-Star Trombone Choir member at the University of Delaware Trombone Day. It was amazing to play alongside talented students from schools like Indiana University of Pennsylvania, West Chester University, and Penn State, to name a few!
In 2013, I joined the Sigma Kappa Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America Inc., a great way to connect with other music enthusiasts.
Over the years, I’ve enjoyed working with various music programs, including Kingsway Regional High School, Pennsauken High School, and East Brunswick High School. I’ve also been involved with the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps. Currently, I’m teaching the brass section at Cab Calloway School of the Arts, which is an absolute joy.
As for my education, I earned my B.A. in Music Education from Delaware State University in Dover back in May 2017. I then completed my M.M. in Music Education at Temple University in Philadelphia, graduating in August 2020.
I’m thrilled to bring this experience to my role at Practicing Musician and can’t wait to help you on your musical journey!
