As a Music Performance major at Kansas State University, my passion for percussion spans over 12 years. Musical experiences include freelancing in the Wichita, Manhattan, and KC area with Funk, Latin, Orchestral, and Jazz bands. The past three years have been spent performing with KSU’s top Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Orchestra, while serving as Snare section leader in both Marching and Pep bands.
Performance highlights include playing at the Kauffman Center, KMEA, Carnegie Hall, and numerous choir collaborations and solo recitals. Working with private students has been incredibly rewarding, with many achieving superior ratings at solo and ensemble festivals. Teaching experience extends to drum lines and front ensembles across Kansas, including Andover, Buhler, Campus, and other notable high school bands. The last three years have also included teaching at the KSU Summer Music Camp and Leadership and Auxiliary Camp.
Drawing from years of teaching and performing experience, helping students reach their goals remains the top priority. Students are encouraged to venture beyond their musical comfort zones and tackle challenging repertoire. The path to accomplishing our goals often requires hard work and embracing challenges – through this process, growth happens both as musicians and human beings.
